Post-A-Day Day 6: Gandalf the GREAT

I love inspirational quotes, especially when they come from my favorite book series or author or such. One of my all-time favorite quotes is:

It always gets me thinking, How am I going to spend my life? How will what I do impact my future? I have a picture of it on my desk so that every time I procrastinate on my laptop and look at it, I remind myself to get back to work, no matter how tedious or stressful it may be.

Q: What is your favorite quote, and why?

-The Rivendell Musician

Post-A-Day Day 4: THANKSGIVING!

Happy Thanksgiving!

There are so many things that I am thankful for this year, and may they all be blessed greatly for how much they have impacted my life:

  • Family: You have all supported me through (mostly lol) everything I do. You may be obnoxious and keep telling me to go practice violin or something, but at the end of the day, you want what is best for me, and you guys are the reason that I can be my best.
  • Friends: I don’t know what I would do without the friends I have today. I may be having a hard day where my self-confidence is at its lowest, but you tell me to press on and to go for it. So many of you would stick with and up for me in thick and thin and  have done so, and words could not express the gratitude I have towards you. Though some of you may be my competition at times, it pushes me to be better and to accept the results, regardless of whether I win or not.
  • God (If you didn’t know, I am a Christian.): I know I don’t talk about my beliefs much in public, but I would be a big hole of hopelessness and who-knows-what-else if it wasn’t for You. Sometimes I go to church thinking, Why am I here? I could be doing something else, sleeping in on a Sunday or sleeping early on a Friday, but then I go and have fellowship with other people, and I feel Your presence, that you’re right there beside me. Just like the words of “Testimony,” there have been times when I’ve lost my way, but You reprimand me in love and pull me up from darkness. You never gave up on me, and I am blessed to be a sinner saved by grace.
  • Music: I can’t imagine myself not doing music. Practicing is tedious, but the end result is something truly magical. This year alone, I have experienced many magical music moments, from ACDA to AOSA to little things like those special moments in lessons and such. It’s at those times that I truly understood why I worked so hard and spent so much time every day perfecting my craft. It’s a feeling that can’t be explained; it’s all those feelings of joy and dispair and anger and ecstasy all wrapped up in a whirlwind of sound and energy that nothing could replace. It’s a comfort when I’m sad, a huge contribution to my happiness, and without it, I don’t know what I would be doing with my life. Continue reading “Post-A-Day Day 4: THANKSGIVING!”
